The Midwifery Workshops sponsored by the Farm Midwifery Center include
classes and retreats for midwife assistant students, practicing midwives,
beginning midwifery students, doulas, and labor and delivery nurses.
In all our workshops, we strive to teach the skills and knowledge you will need to make the
birthing environment safe, pleasant and responsive to the needs of women
and babies.
Our instructors include, Ina May Gaskin, C.P.M.; Pamela Hunt,
C.P.M.; Joanne Santana, R.N., C.P.M.; Carol Nelson, C.P.M.; Deborah Flowers,
R.N., C.P.M.; and Stacie Hunt, C.P.M., as well as several guest instructors.
We sponsor Midwifery Assistant Workshops in which we introduce the skills
and knowledge you will need to assist a practicing midwife in home or
birth center delivery. This workshop will give you a solid foundation
as you continue your studies in midwifery as an apprentice or in a midwifery
school. If you are already a doula, this workshop will broaden your understanding
of the birth process and will inform you of ways to assist a midwife as
well as the birthing mother. For more information, please visit TheMidwiferyWorkshops.org
