A Little About Us

Located in a beautifully renovated original school of The Farm Community, the community center offers an interesting and unusual venue for week-long and weekend events.

Most of the community’s 1750 acres is preserved in a beautiful hardwood forest. Our guests enjoy leisurely strolls, strenuous hikes, creek walks, and swimming in season.

Facilities

The Community Center is the heart of the community. It can comfortably seat 120 people.

The Solar School

The Solar School, the largest passive solar building in the state of Tennessee, is located just steps away. It can sometimes be utilized to provide 4 additional classrooms, as well as a daycare room.

Our outdoor stage and fairgrounds, dormitory building, and camping areas complete the 20-acre campus.

Accommodations

The Wooden School (the first Farm High School) now houses two dorm rooms, each with several single beds.

Hoot Owl Hollow Hostel, right next door, also has dorm rooms with bunk beds, and a few single rooms. Several homes rent rooms or have small cabins. There are also several AirBnb’s close by. Check our list of accommodations here.

Camping is available in either a walk-in wooded area behind the community center or a “keep your vehicle with you” area. Both locations have access to water, showers, and toilets.

Motels are located in Columbia TN, 40 minutes north, Mount Pleasant, 20 minutes north, and Lawrenceburg, 20 minutes south.

Cuisine

The Farm has earned a renowned reputation for delicious vegan and vegetarian recipes.

We guarantee the meals will be the highlight of your visit. We can also cater to special diets. Fast food and snacks are available at The Farm Store, a pleasant 20-minute walk from the Community Center.
